Mr. Marino,

Thank you for allowing me, and others, to use your breathtaking Austin skyline pictures as computer desktops. It is nice to see such awesome photos of Austin, and not be charged for it or have to look at some advartisment. I went to UT in the early 2000's, moved after graduation, and have missed it every second since.

Thank you!

Most of the times I remove the metadata using the above method. Is there a way to disable the metadata addtion feature in the application level itself?

I grew up in Austin, living there for 26 years before moving away about 6 years ago. I have been very homesick lately and having your gorgeous picture of downtown as my work desktop has helped me feel better! Thank you and keep taking your lovely pictures!

I was born in Austin and its my home. I recently had to move away from Austin :( A number of your pictures rotate through my desk top back ground and are a precious reminder of home - you have captured the beauty of the city I've been so fortunate to call home. I'd be interested in purchasing a few different prints. Keep doing what you do.

Take Care.

Yes, in OSX, if you open the tiff (8bit or 16bit) file in preview, you can save it as a png and then back to a tiff. This will remove the Metadata automatically. Just make sure you choose the same bit rate. Im not sure if something similar can be done in windows. I would presume so, but Im not sure. The way I remove metadata is with Aperture 3. In Aperture I can can simply uncheck the "include Metadata" box for ether jpeg or tiff files when I'm exporting. You do this by editing the Export Presets. Here's the link.

I'd like to remove metadata from tif files. Can I save them as png files, remove the data
then save the png files as tifs w/o the mdata?

Any other possibilities?

You can create Apps, or services to Save as PNG, then Save as JPG in OSX using automator.

A bit of fiddling around and you can create some interesting little apps of your own, and it's not too difficult.
You don't even have to know any coding.
